Sole to Soul Running is a very special kind of running/walking group. No matter what your fitness level, you'll find the support you need to accomplish goals you never thought were possible!

We offer support if you're just starting out or an experienced runner or walker. It's a great time to run -- or learn to run -- or walk. This group is for YOU; no matter what your pace or experience, we think you're perfect!

I'm not a certified coach or physician -- just someone who knows that running with wonderful people makes for a wonderful life.  Please see About Us for important information about my coaching skills (or lack thereof).  

Here's the thing:  It may start with the sole, but it changes the soul!

So Many Reasons to Celebrate!

Our Oct. 12 trip to the Long Beach Half-Marathon gives us lots of reasons to celebrate why our group is so special -- and an opportunity to relflect on what it means to be a Solemate:

1.  Ten amazing Sole to Soul runners -- 10! -- completed the race.  When we began, I could not have imagined 10 people showing up on a Saturday, much less that many people traveling for a race. Many of us can clearly remember a time when we would have never thought that 13.1 miles was possibility -- and look at us now!

2. Two PRs.  I am so proud of Val and Loann!  And here's the thing: they both WORKED for their success.  They have been diligent about training and cross-training.  Look to these women for inspiration, and you'll PR, too!

3.  Three cheerleaders.  It was great fun to have Amie and Caryn there for our pre-race dinner on Saturday and mid-course support on Sunday. It was a wonderful way to go the extra mile(s) for your team -- I am deeply thankful for your committment.  AND THEN -- there could not have been a bigger or more welcome surprise than seeing our Sole to Soul sign with Carol (and her camera) just a few steps away. THANK YOU for the pictures and, as always, the course support. You are amazing.

4.  One incredible dinner and the chance to celebrate Raquel and Marlo's birthdays.  How much fun we had!!

Sometimes I just sit back and watch you all be together, honored and humbled to be, in small way, part of the reason you all met.  I cherish my friendships with you and your friendships with one another.

Let's keep encouraging each other (always), pushing each other (not literally), and cheering our successes. Together, we have many things to celebrate and many blessings to count!

Many of our members joined Sole to Soul to train for their first 1/2 marathon. Most of us never thought that running 13.1 miles was even possible when we first started training but, together, we learned that we could do it.

Our running motto is "At Peace With My Pace." I believe that with encouragement and support, you can cross the finish line -- still upright, smiling and ready to sign up for another adventure.
