Sole to Soul Running is a very special kind of running/walking group. No matter what your fitness level, you'll find the support you need to accomplish goals you never thought were possible!

We offer support if you're just starting out or an experienced runner or walker. It's a great time to run -- or learn to run -- or walk. This group is for YOU; no matter what your pace or experience, we think you're perfect!

Our Facebook page is your best source for up-to-date training and race information!

I'm not a certified coach or physician -- just someone who knows that running with wonderful people makes for a wonderful life.  Please see About Us for important information about my coaching skills (or lack thereof).

Here's the thing:  It may start with the sole, but it changes the soul!

We'd love for you to join us on our Saturday morning and race day adventures. See our Training Schedule each week for our meeting place and mileage.

Happy New Year (Happy OLD One, Too)!

2013 was pretty amazing.

We had so many new runners join us -- and we each accomplished some pretty spectacular feats. New PRs.  New medals.  New victories of every kind.  We worked HARD.

And we had fun!

Just look at our "pre-Holiday Half" picture. Only Sole to Soul would stage our photo in this particular area of the store!!!

But here's what really sets us apart.

It was how many of us were there that day.  Walking.  Running.  Cheering.  It was more than just Marivic finishing her FIRST HALF -- or even me completing my 30th (yikes!). It was the spirit of everyone there.  The joy of watching you all cross the finish line or seeing each other along the route.  It was in Carol and Mary Beth there taking pictures and getting us up the hills.  How I loved being there with you all -- as I do whenever we meet.

Now... we head into a new year.  And, with it, more challenges and more victories.

This could be your year to run your first half.  Your first full.  It could be the year when you PR. When you try a new race.  When you mentor someone new.  We will keep moving.

No matter what, though, there is something that we WILL NOT CHANGE:  We still stay at peace with our pace.  We will remember that EVERY step is important and EVERY speed is faster than sleeping in.

We will comfort each other through injuries and reassure each other through bad runs.  And we will celebrate with each other the completion of each training route.  We will try new things.  We will not be afraid.  We are safe with one another to be all that we can be.

It will start with our soles.  And we will nourish our souls.  Together.

Happy New Year, Solemates!  JM

An incredible year. An even more amazing future.
It seems hard to believe we're almost at the end of 2013.  We've had so much to celebrate -- and we still have the Holiday Half on December 29 to add to the joy!

Last Saturday, we conquered another new route -- up Mt. Soledad!

Several years ago, when Sole to Soul began, I'm not sure we could have imagined that this would have possible, much less so fun.

The view from the top was incredible, and it got me to thinking how we sometimes forget to stop and look around.

When I look back at our year together, I am as filled with wonder and delight as I was gazing at the beauty of our city from high atop the hill.  You all have accomplished SO much.  New distances.  New PRs.  New reasons to feel proud of all that you have done together.

I just can't help but believe that next year will be even more special.

There's just something -- incredible -- about Sole to Soul.  You are the best people I know.  How can 2014 be anything less than fantastic?

Come join us.  Because you, too, can reach new heights.

Much love and the happiest of holidays to you all!  XXOO JM

Many of our members joined Sole to Soul to train for their first 1/2 marathon. Most of us never thought that running 13.1 miles was even possible when we first started training but, together, we learned that we could do it.

Our running motto is "At Peace With My Pace." I believe that with encouragement and support, you can cross the finish line -- still upright, smiling and ready to sign up for another adventure.

You can do this, too; please email me with questions!
