Sole to Soul Running is a very special kind of running/walking
group. No matter what your fitness level, you'll find the support you need to accomplish goals you never thought were possible!
We offer support if you're just starting out or
an experienced runner or walker. It's a great time
to run -- or learn to run -- or walk. This group is for YOU; no matter what your pace or experience, we think you're

Begging and Groveling!
Okay. I admit it. I am using this blog for personal gain.

Well, sort of! I'd like to ask that
you all consider participating in the Shamu & You Family Walk on Oct. 6. It will be a one-mile walk and a three-mile
run, although us LA Rock n Rollers will take it easy and prep for a 12-miler the next day (yikes!).
benefits Rady Children's Hospital, so it's a wonderful, worthwhile cause, and if it's possible to help, I'd be deeply appreciative.
Our Solemates are all so special, you actually have lots of options. I'll have my team -- One Crazy Grandma.
Becca's team is the Heart Heros (if you've seen how adorable her son is, you'd know why her team supports Cardiology) and
Raquel is part of the ADI team to support Autism Discovery.
At any rate, it's a fun why for us to be together
-- and for you to invite your family and friends to be a part. Please let me know if you have any questions, and know
that I'm happy to beg more!!!

First: The good news:
I've been so excited to hear from so many new walkers and runners interested in
joining us. I know it's hard to make the choice to get up early and try something new, but I LOVE that people are hearing
about us and want to come out.
We are starting brand-new mileage cycles for newbies who want to sign up for the
Carlsbad Half (in January) or PETCO (in March). You have PLENTY of time to get started now and succeed.
for the first time, Sole to Soul will offer training support for those who want to run the Carlsbad Full. Wow!
What an amazing challenge -- and an amazing accomplishment.
Now... for the BETTER news (you knew there wouldn't
be bad news, right?):
Last Saturday's run was... hmmmmm... what's the word? BRUTAL!!!! And yet, we
made it through!! I was so proud of all of us!
What made it possible? Maria, of course, manning our
aid station and giving us all hope -- and all of you who cared about each other and took care of each other.
For me, the saviour was Bea.
As we walked the last two miles, Bea talked about how this group has
helped her conquer so many things she never thought possible -- how it has helped her get her smile to shine. She is
And you all should come meet her and hear her story and run with her awhile.
It is members like Bea
that put the Soul in Sole to Soul. And I love her -- as I love you all. See you Saturday. JM
Many of our members joined Sole to Soul to
train for their first 1/2 marathon. Most of us never thought that running 13.1 miles was even possible when we first
started training but, together, we learned that we could do it.
Our running motto is "At Peace With My Pace." I believe
that with encouragement and support, you can cross the finish line -- still upright, smiling and ready to sign up for another
