This week, we celebrated!
First, we celebrated with Becca and Maria as they
received our traditional Sole to Soul Half Marathon moment and window sticker. So special! (We have yours waiting
for you, Stefan!). I'm so proud of them.
Just as importantly, we celebrated brand-new runners and walkers
joining our group. It's a big and sometimes scary decision to get started, but I know that each of these fabulous new
Solemates will be succesful.
Because we have runners and walkers at every level, each of you has practical support.
But more -- MUCH MORE -- it doesn't really matter who is at which level, because our members all treat one another
with respect and admiration. No one ever has to feel bad about his or her pace, but we would never let that happen.
We grow in our abilities because there's ROOM to grow, and the emotional support we need to know we're successful.
Today, I was again, At Peace With My Pace, because that's because I was with all of you.

Achieving Your Dreams -- One Step at a Time!
This last Sunday, I was again humbled and overwhelmed by how magnificent our group members are!

Becca, Stefan and
Maria all finished their first half-marathons. It was so special and emotional. I realized later that Maria's
time was the same as my time when I did my first half four years ago.
It was a blast doing the relay
with Anna, and I was thrilled for Lisa, Vanessa, Elena, Bea, Carmen, Raquel and Val -- many of whom celebrated new PRs on
Sunday. Everyone should feel proud.
I must admit, though, that I get just
as much joy out of each of our Saturday runs, no matter what the distance. And I'm thrilled that we start a new training
cycle this week, June 9, so -- as our AFCers continue to build up -- we can welcome new runners to our Sole to Soul family.
This is the week to come and learn what it's all about and to sign up for an event that will inspire you to
keep training. Keep believing. Keep succeeding.
Personally, I'm super-excited about
doing three miles this week and cheering on our six-milers at the end. We'll be in beautiful Coronado (see the Training
Schedule for details).
I hope to see you all there. It will be, for me, a dream come true!
Many of our members joined Sole to Soul to
train for their first 1/2 marathon. Most of us never thought that running 13.1 miles was even possible when we first
started training but, together, we learned that we could do it.
Our running motto is "At Peace With My Pace." I believe
that with encouragement and support, you can cross the finish line -- still upright, smiling and ready to sign up for another
