I am so thankful for everyone who came out on Saturday morning and hosted such a great post-race
birthday celebration. 50 really is fabulous.
I was so incredibly proud of you for how well everyone did on our
hilly Carmel Valley to Solana Beach route. I know some of you were scared, and yet you conquered!!! See? You
can do this!
How fun to see so many of you at my house Saturday night, as well. Thank you. I must admit:
Everyone looks really different all dressed up. You all clean up well! Still, you are never as handsome or beautiful
as after you complete a run. Accomplishment is very attractive.
This week -- it's all flat!
Teresa is our new Walking Captain, so please encourage walkers to join us, as well.

Each week, I'm so inspired by everyone coming out and joining us on this adventure. It's a
REALLY BIG DEAL that you are challenging yourself in new ways.
I'm so proud of you!
If you're thinking
about joining us, I really suggest signing up for an event -- like the new SD Half Marathon in March. You can start
now (I'll adjust the mileage), but that training cycle will start fresh on Oct. 29 -- so you can begin adding a minute or
two of jogging now and be completely ready for the new cycle (and for the race, of course). Join our Sole to Soul Running
team for more support and encouragement.
If you're an experienced runner, we'd love to have you, too. ALL

Our group is growing -- and it couldn't be more fun!
Every week, we've had more runners join us -- at every level
-- and it's been wonderful to see every complete our mileage.
This week, on Sept. 10, we'll meet at Spanish Landing
(see Training Schedule for details), and I encourage new members to join us. I'll have routes available for a variety
of distances and, since you never have to feel bad about your speed, it's a great time to challenge yourself and increase
I also ask your help! Our Oct. 1 run will be at the Shamu & You Family Walk (I work
for Rady Children's Hospital, so I'm combining my passions). It's $30 for adults and $19 for kids, and it's so fun.

train for their first 1/2 marathon. Most of us never thought that running 13.1 miles was even possible when we first
started training but, together, we learned that we could do it.
